Puerto Vallarta ni ravno znan po tekaškem planinarjenju. Toda samo 25 km južno leži slikovita ribiška vasica Boca de Tomatlan. Od tam se začne 9 km dolga obalno pot, ki mimo priljubljene, dostopne samo s čolnom Playa Las Animas vodi do Quimixto in dalje do Quimixto Falls.
