If you've ever been to the magical bouldering destination of Fontainebleau you will know about the coloured circuits that are painted on boulders to define a group of climbs, often in a certain grade range/difficulty. Many years ago these circuits were a training site for many French Alpine climbers training for bigger objectives in the mountains.
