July 18, 1995, the dormant Soufrière Hills volcano erupted pyroclastic flows with such force it destroyed the capital city, Plymouth. The volcano changed the island forever - both geographically, geologically & psychologically. For the next 5 years, evacuations continued till 2/3 of the population fled, leaving 1,200 people on the island. The volcanic eruptions continued for years, finally waning in 2010 - 13 years after this documentary was made.
