The International Union for Conservation of Nature has placed the Monarch Butterfly on its endangered species list. In this video I review the biology and life cycle of 'Danaus plexippus' it the worlds most amazing insect migratrion. I explain the life cycle from, egg, to larva, (including 5 instars) chrysalis, and adult. I explain how to distinguish male and female adult butterflies. I encourage planting milkweed and butterfly gardens, and learning more about the butterfly as a beginning to what you can do to help save this species.
