Opis:
Stellaria media, Chickweed is recognized by many as an aggressive invasive non-native weed. However, it is highly valued by foragers for its nutritional content: rich in vitamins and antioxidants and more. In this video I describe 5 ways to be certain of its ID and I discuss its past and present uses and ethnobotany. I also discuss a not so tasty but similar edible: mouse chickweed and a toxic look-a-like scarlet pimpernel.
