La Valle Morobbia si sviluppa per circa 11 km fra Giubiasco (quota 254 ms.m.) e il Passo del San Jorio a 2012 ms.m. La valle ha una forma a «V» molto stretta sul cui fondo scorre, profondamente incassato e perlopiù invisibile dall’alto, l’omonimo corso d’acqua.
