Opis:
The Alcazaba of Antequera is a Moorish fortress in Antequera, Spain. It was erected over Roman ruins in the 14th century to counter the Christian advance from the north.
After constant fighting between Christians and Muslims, it was severely damaged. When King Fernando 3rd reconquered Seville, it was deemed necessary to rebuild it and enlarge it as a defense structure. Antequera suddenly became an important strategic place on the border and constituted an essential defense for the Sultan of Granada.
