At 24.5 miles with 14,000 ft of elevation gain and loss the Alpine Ridge Traverse is no WURL or PURL but that doesn't mean it's easy. The ART still contains lots of knee destroying ridge line and spirit crushing descents. It's still miserable enough to convince your friends not to join you during you'r attempt. But at least Blake and Aaron joined me for a small segment of the last of the three great local traverses.
