Today's hike takes us from Preda to the Lai da Palpuogna on the snow-covered Albula Pass road (closed for traffic in winter). A popular excursion and picnic spot in summer, the lake now lies peaceful and still under a thick blanket of snow. Constant views of the rock pyramids of the Dschimels ('Twins'), the Piz Muot and the unapproachable summit of the Piz Ela accompany us on our circular hike back to Preda, which is officially signposted as snowshoe tour no. 528.
