Amazing autumnal colors during this 5 hour long T2 autumn hike on Turtmanntal's panorama trail. The valley's inhabitants only stay there during the summer season and leave before the first snow, so the bus wasn't running anymore. Until it really snows, you can rent the bus like a taxi though. I started my tour in Gruben-Meiden, straight up the valley side until I reached the panorama trail. Fog kept creeping up the sides, but in the end, the sun broke through for good, and the colors of the blueberry bushes and larches were surreal in their intensity. The early snow on the mountain tops shown white against the deep blue sky. I had incredibly lucky timing, this tour was breathtaking! I followed the trail until the Turtmann dam lake close to the glaciers and then walked back on the valley floor. Pick you moment to use your cell phone, reception isn't great. The bus driver asked if I had Swisscom to make sure I would be able to call.
