Este cerro también está en la agenda, entre los cortos recorridos cerca de la capital almeriense. Es peculiar y visto desde algunas zonas de la capital, parece un triángulo. Mirando a la izquierda de Sierra Alhamilla, vemos como dos triángulos, el de la izquierda es el Cerro de la Mina o también llamado el Cerro del Fuerte (523 m.) y en el centro el Cerro Alfaro (740m.), ambos pertenecen al Municipio de Rioja.
