From filmmaker Brutis Baez:

Wiwinu (Huckleberries) is one of our first foods, we have a creation story and feast celebration for this food during the month of August. Tribal members travel and hike different terrain looking for huckleberry bushes to pick and harvest. We will follow different folks and hear their stories of growing up picking huckleberries and what Wiwinu mean s to them. We will share language in Ichiskin (Sahapton) about these locations and share the creation story with one of our linguists on how the huckleberry came to be one our most important foods. We will show pics of our feast from ancient to modern, we cannot film the feast due to pandemic protocol however we can share montage pictures of the feast.
