Exploring the Georgian Dolomites
By airplane we went from Venice to Istanbul and from there we continued our journey to Georgia. We passed by many small villages on our road to Georgia, so that we were able to buy the most necessary of food and gasoline there. Unfortunately we were not able to master the whole trip to our small village by car... therefore we had to walk the last kilometers by feet. The villages we chose, Juta, is very small and in wintertime only three families live there. We can consider ourselves lucky as we could sleep the first night there and store our provisions and equipment for the whole expedition period. The second day we set off to our basecamp and pitched tent in the middle of the Georgia dolomites. During our expedition we went only once down to Juta to refill our provisions. The rest of the days we slept in our tents.
