Die Wanderung aus dem Jenbachtal in Richtung Breitenstein folgt zunächst recht flach dem Bach. Erst nach der Jenbachbrücke wird der Weg steiler und führt dann über kleine Wald- und Wiesenpfade zur Südflanke des Breitensteins empor.
