Black Diamond ambassador Chaehyun Seo was born into the climbing life. Her parents own a climbing gym in Seoul, and by age 14, the South Korean phenom was already sending 9a. Now at age 19, Chaehyun has established herself as one of the top competitors on the World Cup circuit, winning the overall lead gold in 2019. Chaehyun still takes her next-level skills to the world's best crags, however, and this past November, she let the Black Diamond team in on her plans to try the legendary La Rambla (9a+/5.15a). The team deployed to Spain to document Chaehyun's attempts, and on November 22, with cameras rolling, she fired the route, making the second female ascent of La Rambla and ticking her hardest route to date.
