Opis:
Hillary Gerardi did not intend to become a runner. She spent her childhood scampering around the woods in her family’s back forty and swinging around uneven bars at the local gymnastic club through high school, only running when her field hockey and lacrosse coaches told her she had to. But when she moved to the French Alps after college, she found her niche in Skyrunning, a sport that combines trail running and ridge scrambling in some of the world’s most beautiful places. Her career as a “Skyrunner” really took off in 2018, when she placed first at three of the sport’s toughest races: Tromso Skyrace (Norway), Trofeo Kima (Italy) and Glencoe Skyline (Scotland), as well as the Mont Blanc Vertical Kilometer and the Monterosa Skymarathon. She’ll be back on the starting line in 2019 and when not racing, she plans on continuing to draw lines on maps and seeing where she can go with her own two feet.
