Opis:
We wanted to reach Pico Ruivo to see Madeira's highest peak completely covered in snow. The road to Achada do Teixeira was closed so we parked 5 kilometers below and walked up to Achada do Teixeira. We then continued on the snowy trail for another 3 kilometers to Pico Ruivo where we met the hut owner and had a coffee by his fire. We didn't go to the summit due to the bad visibility and the weather as it didn't seem worth it. The winter wonderland near the mountain hut was spectacular enough.
