Opis: I show how to build a well-ventilated critter cage or bug box with plastic jars, fiberglass window screening and a glue gun. The design was part of my series on rearing monarch caterpillars from finding milkweed and monarch eggs to eventual tagging and release. Ventilation is very important to keep insects in captivity for a brief period or rearing caterpillars. I explain step by step and show entire process from cutting out the lid of the plastic jar, opening the side and gluing fiber glass window screen into lid and side of jar. A sturdy razor knife, a hot glue gun and glue, window screening and a plastic jar is all you need. In the next episode I will show how to build a larger more sophisticated critter cage suitable for briefly housing adult butterflies as well.
