Localmente detta anche El Coolo, in guerra Col Gallina, la Croda Negra è una dorsale arrotondata di roccia scura, che si eleva fra il Passo Falzarego e il monte Averau. Propone una salita semplice e non molto faticosa, interessante per il panorama e le testimonianze belliche. Di recente, purtroppo, l'ambiente circostante è stato interessato da un nuovo impianto sciistico e dalle relative strutture accessorie.
