Backpacking in the Smoky Mountains with my daughter Lydia in early July, 2016. She wanted a challenge, so I gave her one: a killer ascent to the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Appalachian Trail, Clingmans Dome. On the way there, we also took in Andrews Bald.
