Mt. Adams doesn't have a completed circumnavigation trail around Washington's massive volcano. While Mt. Hood has the Timberline Trail, Rainier has the Wonderland Trail, and St. Helens has the Loowit Trail--Mt. Adams has cobbled together the Around the Mountain Trail on the South side, the Pacific Crest Trail on the West, and the Highline Trail on the North side. The catch? There is NO TRAIL on the East side--this is known as THE GAP. It's an intense 2 days of high alpine route finding across glaciers, steep talus fields, and raging creeks. It was no joke.
