The result was a light, fun shoe, but it was missing some trail-specific features. With the Catamount 2, Brooks has fully committed the Catamount series to the trail with a hydrophobic, abrasion-resistant upper and a more aggressive outsole. Even with those new trail features, the shoe is just as light and it feels even faster thanks to the new SkyVault propulsion plate in the forefoot. I don't think I've seen another trail shoe with the same versatile feature-set as the Catamount 2!
