Road trip! Alvord Desert Playa, Alvord Hot Springs, and the Steens Mountains Wilderness are off the beaten path, but well worth the trip to Eastern Oregon.
Things to do:
1. Drive or camp on the Alvord Desert Playa, a 12 x 7 mile stretch of flat desert, which is also BLM land.
