In September 2017, a teenager launched fireworks into dry brush on the popular and beautiful Eagle Creek Trail. The resulting wildfire consumed the valley and spread into the Columbia Gorge, forcing evacuations in the nearby town of Cascade Locks, and raining down ash on Portland, Oregon. In January 2021, the USFS reopened the trail to the public for the first time since the fire. Radish checks out aftermath of the fire 4 days after the trail reopened to the public.
